Who we are
fifty is made by Steam Train Productions. If you have questions or concerns about this policy, contact us at rafeejenkins@gmail.com.
What we collect
We collect the following information to operate fifty and improve your experience:
- Device identifier: a random identifier generated on your device, used for gameplay, leaderboards, and analytics.
- Email address: collected only when you create an account to publish challenges. Used solely to sign you in and to associate the challenges you create with your account. Never used for marketing. Playing challenges, submitting scores, and using the daily require no account.
- Account name: if you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from those providers. Apple's Hide My Email relay counts as your email.
- App username: a unique name you can optionally claim in the app at first launch (checked against a server-side registry; no account needed, and you can skip it). It is your name on challenge leaderboards, and it links to your account when you later sign in.
- Leaderboard nickname: the nickname you type when you post a score to a challenge leaderboard.
- Gameplay data: your scores, the positions of cuts you make, and your daily challenge results.
- IP address: stored server-side for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and debugging.
- Usage events: anonymous activity events (e.g., "challenge created", "share tapped") tied to your device identifier, used to understand how fifty is used.
- Photos you upload: images you choose to turn into challenges.
Photos and moderation
The subject cutout you create is uploaded to our server and scanned for prohibited content using OpenAI's moderation service. OpenAI may retain scan inputs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. After scanning, your cutout is stored and served publicly to anyone with the challenge link. Do not create challenges from photos you would not share publicly.
What we don't do
fifty has no ads, no ad-tracking SDKs, no sale of data, and no third-party analytics platforms. We do not use your email for marketing or any purpose beyond sign-in and account administration. Challenge data (gameplay events) is never linked to your email.
Retention and removal
Challenge images and scores persist while the challenge exists. To request takedown of a challenge, report it in-app or email us at rafeejenkins@gmail.com. IP addresses are used only for rate limiting and abuse prevention and are not shown to other players.
Accounts and deletion
fifty offers three sign-in methods: Sign in with Apple, Google, or a one-time code sent to your email (no passwords stored). Email sign-in uses a 6-digit code that expires in 10 minutes. Apple and Google sign-in shares only the token, name, and email those providers return with fifty; fifty does not send gameplay data to them.
Email sign-in codes are sent via Cloudflare Email Service, which hosts our entire service. Cloudflare processes the email address and OTP code only to deliver the sign-in code to you.
Deleting your account is available in the app: open the about screen and tap "delete account" (a confirmation follows). Deleting removes your account and all sign-in data. Challenges you have already published remain on the server and continue to be playable, but they are no longer linked to your account.
Children
fifty is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Your continued use of fifty after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
